LOURINHÃ is a small village located 60 km north of Lisbon. It’s also considered to be the “Dinosaur Coast” which brings visitors from all around the world to this region. This area is rich in it’s historical heritage, kms of beaches that extends along the coast and traditional gastronomy. 


 

LOURINHÃ MUSEUM is famous for it’s numerous discoveries of fossils, which is the largest Portuguese collection of the Upper Jurassic era with over 150 million years. One of their prime species is the Lourinhanosaurus  egg nest. So much to discover for any dinosaur lover.

The seaside city of PENICHE is implanted on a peninsula once an island is located just 15 minutes from Praia da Areia Branca. Since ancient times Peniche has been considered one of the most important fishing harbor of Portugal. The city is built within a fort wall, which used to be a prison. From the magnificent beaches that stretch along the entire coast, ideal for any number of water sports, to the numerous cultural forts and religious monuments, Peniche offers diverse resources for any tourist that include a rich fish and seafood gastronomy and their famous ‘Rendas de Bilros’ a delicate crochet.
CALDAS DA RAINHA is a city packed with history and culture. It holds a daily opened air fruit and nuts market in the center of the city that begins at around 6 am until 1 pm. In the center of town there is a beautiful garden with a small pond the perfect scenery for a pleasant walk. Just a short distance from the city is the beach Foz do Arelho. A great family beach with the lagoon on one side where water sports is very popular.   
The medieval town of ÓBIDOS is a village that is surrounded by a fortified wall. Walking down the cobbled stone streets, squares, and the massive castle that surrounds the village places you back in time. There are many small souvenir shops along the main road along with numerous coffee shops across the village. When visiting, it’s almost mandatory to try the local cherry liquor that is known as Ginginha.
Through out the year the village of Óbidos puts on numerous events to captivate and invite people from all around the world to enjoy.
TORRES VEDRAS is known for its animated center and its variety of commerce. This region is well known for its agriculture and extensive vineyards that produce numerous wines. From the excellent beaches, although the ocean water may be rough and not that warm, they’re becoming more populated. In February, this city holds a ‘carnival’ parade, one of the most popular of the country. 

Buddha Eden Park is located just on the outskirts of the city of Bombarral. This park is filled with enormous Asian sculptures imported from China by the owner Joe Berardo a wealthy philanthropist. 
Adjacent to this park is Loridos, a wine producing ‘quinta’ that also holds a wine shop. Plan your day at the park, then try a wine tasting tour and finish it off with dinner at Mãe de Agua restaurant located minutes from the park.
The local bowling lanes are just 30 mins away in the city of Caldas da Rainha. It holds 10 Brunswick lanes, bars, snooker, video games, patio, live music, Karaoke, DJ and a diverse snack menu to choose from.
Portugal is well known for it’s diverse waves along the entire coastline. Peniche has been called the wave capital of the country, and how hosts yearly one of the largest surfing competitions in October. There are endless surf school around where you can challenge yourself and learn how to ride some waves.

DinoKart is just around the corner and a extremely fun place to spend some time and feel tons of adrenaline. This track runs over 920 meters it also has a snack bar and a souvenir shop. You can organize individual runs or competitions in group. 
Arena Shopping Mall is located in Torres Vedras just 25 mins away. Find everything from cinemas, shops. and the food-court.
Vivaci Shopping Center could be another option if your heading north towards Caldas da Rainha. This mall holds four floors of boutiques, cinema, play grounds for the kids and a food court.
This area also holds some of the finest Golf courses in the country. From Praia D'El Rey and Bom Sucesso to Vimeiro and Consulacao, choose from any number of these to work on your craft.
